So our follower Chris, who is also one of our close friends, has excellent taste in ties and great color-coordination. We know we don't feature many guys on here so we wanna give a shout out to the guys in our follower list (Holla!). We know that fashion is often considered "girly"....WRONG! Guys can have a great eye for color and pairing, as demonstrated by Chris. The colors of his shirts go nicely with his ties without being overpoweringly monochromatic. He is not afraid to experiment with designs like paisley and stripes, and trying daring combinations like his mauve shirt and purple tie. In all, this creates a clean, sharp look that shows his true passion for fashion and awesome style.

A Disingenuous Ingenue
At first glance, Tamar's outfit may seem innocent and sweet, an Eiffel tower necklace around her neck and a sweet beret on her head. But all may not be as it seems. Her modest, 50s style dress is scarlet and she's wearing not a sweet, light sweater but a daring leather jacket. She may be wearing sensible tights, but they are tucked into a pair of buckled boots. However, what brings the outfit together is the synthesis of the accessories. Black and Red always have and always will go beautifully together. It's the details that make this outfit what it is. The silver buckles and the silver necklace tie the bottom and middle together, while the burst of red in the cap brings the middle and top together. This makes the outfit flow instead of making it to busy. The girly-tough look is incredibly popular right now, but not as easy to pull off as it may seem. Balance is essential when creating a girly-tough ensemble. The focus can be primarily girly (like a sweet floral dress with butt-kicking boots and a cool jacket) or mainly tough (like a black leather dress, peep-toe heels with a floral or bow accent and a light, brightly toned coat) or an equal balance of both (like Tamar's look). It may take some thought to plan and a bit of trial-and-error, but anyone can rock a chic look like this.
Brick Wall, Waterfall, These Girls Really Got It All
What time is it? Guest post time!!! We know all of you are sooo bored by just seeing us over and over again....NOT! But seriously, Ally and Aimi were workin' it! Ally had on a Ke$ha-worthy ensemble on, with a dash of sweetness and youth (and a LOT less glitter...). The ripped denim shorts and the graphic print of the shirt nicely contrasted the lady-like cardigan and ruffled ballet flats. Lace tights: the outfit wildcard. Paired with a sweet A-line dress they exude elegance and charm. Yet, these accessories have a dark side too, when paired with pieces of a more scandalous nature. In Ally's outfit they help to mediate between the darkness and lightness of her outfit, bringing it all together for an awesome look!
Aimi, on the other hand, is all sweetness in her nautical-themed top and neutral accessories. In essence, the blouse, belt, boots look (or the 3 B's as we like to call it) is a classic look and a great go-to outfit. But Aimi spices up this look with her expert mixing of neutrals. Her accessories highlight the colors of the outfit without being matchy-matchy, and instead giving her a sophisticated but playful demeanor. The details on the back give the outfit some uniqueness and spunk.

Happy New Years! 2011, Here We Come...
Happy New Years everyone! We hope everyone lived up the last moments of 2010 and started off this new year with a bang. Taylor went with an edgy look, from her straightened hair all the way down to her staggeringly tall, yet surprisingly comfortable, new ankle boots. He lipstick gave the outfit a pop of color and a vintage feel when paired with her hairstyle. Tamar went in a more casual direction, with an Audrey Hepburn-esque look with mostly black, demure sequin accents, and the classic rolled up, skinny pants look. She also used some retro red lipstick to give her outfit a bit of kick. May this new year be full of love, happiness, and great outfits.

Three Apologies and a Picture Party
We want to start off by apologizing for not blogging in so long. We figured we would take a break over the holidays and give ourselves a rest. Now I know you are making a skeptical face at the screen as taking pictures of our outfits and writing witty summaries of them and our activities doesn't seem exactly back-breaking. But it is hard work.....we promise.... Anyways, we are back and we hope everyone had fantastic holidays and a wonderful start to 2011!
So let's rewind the clock a bit to the end of our wonderful trip to New York City. *Both sigh and look up to the right in wistful reminiscence* We won't bore you with the ramblings of two teenage girl travelers (because our names are Taylor and Tamar not Mary-Kate and Ashley), instead give you what was the ultimate highlight of our trip: a winter walk through Central Park. We had fresh, hot apple cider in our hands and red, windblown cheeks as we walked, laughed, and talked about everything from our childhood memories to our future children's names.
There's nothing like winter in New York City.
