Afternoon Light & Books on Love

To make up for our serious inconsistency in posting, we are double-posting!!! *raucous cheers from crowd* Soooooo, after our foray into the land of coffee and literature, we decided to go to one of our favorite places in the world, our little oasis, our escape from the mundanity that is life: Anthropologie! We weren't allowed to take pictures inside the store *cough* *lame* *cough*. On the bright side, Tamar purchased a lovely book with collected quotations about the various aspects of love. She may or may not have bought this after buying it for her sister a year ago, and wishing she had kept it ever since..... Anyways, there were adorable little puppies up for adoption at Anthropologie, as the ASPCA advertised their adoption program. Here's the link if you are considering adopting a pet: http://www.aspca.org/. (woohoo! Go pet adoption!) After gushing over the puppies, we went back outside and saw this fountain and it was just really cool because it was on this little side area, right next to the bustling main street, but it was really quiet there. Alright, we'll shut up and stop telling you and start showing you:

Among the Ink and Paper

We spent a quiet Saturday afternoon, wandering around, looking at books and sipping some delicious coffee. Taylor got her usual, a grande iced soy caramel macchiato (can you say high-maintenance?) and Tamar got her usual, a grande Iced vanilla latte (yummm). Obviously Tamar was inevitably attracted to the Poetry section where she immediately picked up.... wait for it..... (dramatic pause and implied drum roll)... EMILY DICKINSON!!! Everyone is shocked. We found ourselves in the Children's section, reminiscing about storytime and the books we read as kids. We agreed that If you Give a Pig a Pancake by Laura Numeroff, and Danny and the Dinosaur by Syd Hoff were some of our favorite classics.

A Nighttime Sojourn Into Childhood

This playground (at about 10:00 p.m.) is the birthplace of this blog. It was a Friday night, and we were filled with the anticipation of a good weekend, and surrounded by laughing kids, climbing structures, and some pretty cool light. Some of these pictures make a statement, some of them make the statement "we thought this looked cool".

It's not that kind of pole, I promise!

Swing, swing, swing...

...and swing some more!

Bienvenue!

It all started with a pair of boots. Tamar received a new pair of boots in the mail today and, of course, could not resist changing into them immediately. On seeing the outfit she had put together (specifically for the boots), Taylor proposed taking some cool pictures with her oddly-shaped Japanese instant-film (a.k.a. off-brand polaroid) camera (she insisted on the distinction). When the pics came out SUPER adorable, Taylor nonchalantly said: "We should start a fashion blog." A few hours later, with the help of a band-name generator and a couple of vaults, Loose Elegance and The Accidental was born!
Don't worry, we don't intend to bloviate for, like, another 8 paragraphs. We just wanna let you know a little more about us. Taylor is an incredible artist, with an eclectic, quirky, urban style. Tamar is a phenomenal poet with a generally classic, romantic style, with forays into funkiness. However, on any given day, you may see us, our friends, our dogs, some balloons, or a random chick from off the street in our posts. Consistency is NOT our middle name (nor is mildreth, bertha or zanadu). Sometimes there might be scattered French, Shakespearean English, or our own bordering-on-nonsensical jargon.
Basically, the motto of this blog is "Whatever". We hope you enjoy it!
